HI ALL. I PUT MY NEW SKIS ON OVER THE WEEKEND. NOTICED I WAS TOWED OUT 1/2 IN. THE DIRECTIONS SAY TO HAVE THEM PARALLEL TO THE TRACK. IVE SEEN POSTS ON HCS WERE THE HAVE THEM 1/8 TO 1/4 OUT. SO WHICH IS IT. YES DJ YOU SHOULD CHECK YOURS!!!!
grasshead
DJ won't want to check his because if he does it would be a MOD and he likes his stock. I would think get them as straight as possiable if anything out would be better then in. If toed in it would be like downhill skiing the V wedge slows you down. I'll have to check my new ski's witch look awsome I must say. I'm not a expert on ski's because half the time they never touch the ground headbang.gif

Actually you two race clowns, I have done some reading on this subject. Yes, tow the ski stance out 1/2 inch or so. It will help with your cornering to be a bit sharper and easier to steer. Do not tow them in at all, otherwise you will become a snowplow, and we will not need groomers anymore. Also, there are shims at the ski mounts on the CATS. YOU can move the shims to the inside of both skis to widen the stance about an inch or so. I did this when I bought the sled, and I like it. Its not a huge difference, but the sled seems to stay planted in the corners a little better. If you tow them out slightly, 1/2 inch or so I dont think you will loose any speed that will be noticeable.

yeah, pretty close, about 1/2 inch per side. Of course its been about 2 years since I did it, so maybe my measurement is a bit off, but yeah, the spacers on my ski mounts were about that size.
Maddrider
I have read up to 1/2 inch would be the max, so if you can get it to 1/4 that would be good....won't help tho...lol

Mike, honestly I am a little worried about how your sled will be on regular groomed trails? That is an awefully long track for the tight trails in Mass.

You kept your old sled anyways for low snow condtions, or tighter trail rides. I am sure you will be fine. Those 141 tracks just look like they go on forever. Does the sled fit in your trailer?

I'd watch it those mach z's will more than likely spank your off trail sled. But you can laugh when they are on the side of the trail with a blown crank
